About the Author
Edward K. Wagner (May 4, 1940 – January 21, 2006) was Professor of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at the University of California Irvine. Martinez J. Hewlett is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Arizona. New to this edition, David C. Bloom is Associate Professor in the Department of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology at University of Florida and David Camerini is Assistant Professor in the Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at the University of California Irvine.

Excellent resource

I used this textbook as a required course reading in undergrad, and expected it to either sit on my shelf forever.
Now, in med school taking virology and immunology, this textbook is a fantastic, accurate, up-to-date (as much as any science textbook) resource that I've come back to time and time again.
Quality book, well worth the money if you need a good basic virology resource.

This was as basic as the title states. Professor referred to some of the pictures but better information that is more up to date can be found on the internet.

TERRIBLE TEXTBOOK (MUST READ)

Took this course at my university, by far this has to be one of the worst written biology books out there. Everything is all over the place, the figures are alright but the text is written in bullet point paragraphs!
