About the Author
Joseph A. Edminister is Professor Emeritus of Electrical Engineering from the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio, where he also served as an assistant dean and acting dean of engineering. Edminister is a registered Professional Engineer in Ohio, a member of the bar in Ohio, and a registered patent attorney. He is also the author of Schaum's Outline of Theory and Problems of Electromagnetics.
Mahmood Nahvi, PhD, is a professor of electrical engineering at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California. Dr. Nahvi’s areas of special interest and expertise include network theory, control theory, communications engineering, signal processing, neural networks, adaptive control and learning in synthetic and living systems, communication and control in the central nervous system, and engineering education. In the area of engineering education, he has developed computer modules for electric circuits, signals, and systems which improve teaching and learning of the fundamentals of electrical engineering.

This is not for ece students trying to learn circuit ...

This is not for ece students trying to learn circuit analysis. For that purpose, get basic circuit analysis by the same series. This is an overall reference book for filling in all the stuff about capacitors, resistors, and amplifiers and stuff your professor skipped over in your second or third year of ece. First year ece at my college doesn't really go over much more than basic c++programming and series/parallel circuit analysis.

this book was great help once i understood the fundaments themselves

A little more difficult than what i would say a fundamental level truly is, but after a couple semesters of class, this book was great help once i understood the fundaments themselves. Just keep in mind if you just started, it may be difficult to comprehend and i would look elsewhere to help you through fundamental.

The book is great for someone who has already had some form of basic circuits. This is not a book to start with to grasp concepts. Not that the book is bad in any way, it is just not one to start with when trying to get the basics.
